- Always clearly and prominently labelled as “Sponsored” or “Sponsored Content” at the top and bottom of the article, in compliance with FTC Native Advertising Guidelines and ASA / CAP rules on native advertising.
- Subject to editorial review to ensure it meets our factual accuracy standards — we will not publish sponsored content that is misleading, false, or harmful to readers.
- Written either by the advertiser or by our commercial content team, but never by our independent editorial journalists.

Our programmatic inventory is managed in full compliance with the IAB Europe TCF 2.0 consent framework and IAB ads.txt standards to protect buyers from domain spoofing and ad fraud. We work with programmatic partners who comply with IAB Open Measurement standards and who operate in accordance with the industry’s brand safety standards. We do not participate in header bidding arrangements that compromise page load speed or user experience.

News X Now maintains strict advertising standards to protect our readers, our editorial integrity, and our advertiser partners. - Ads for legitimate products and services that are truthfully described and legally available in the target market.
- Ads that clearly identify the advertiser and do not impersonate News X Now or any other publication.
- Ads with landing pages that deliver what the creative promises and comply with applicable consumer protection laws.
- Ads that comply with all applicable laws in the jurisdictions where they are served.
Advertisements We Do Not Accept
In accordance with Google Publisher Policies, Microsoft Advertising Policies, and our own editorial values, News X Now does not accept advertising for the following categories:
- Illegal products, services, or activities in any jurisdiction where the ad is served.
- Counterfeit goods or products that infringe third-party intellectual property rights.
- Misleading, deceptive, or fraudulent advertising claims, including fake news, false health claims, or investment scams.
- Adult content, pornography, or sexually explicit material.
- Weapons, firearms, ammunition, or related accessories where restricted by law.
- Tobacco, e-cigarettes, and vaping products directed at or accessible to minors.
- Gambling and betting products, except where legally permitted and accompanied by responsible gambling messaging as required by the UK Gambling Commission and equivalent regulators.
- Prescription medications promoted without appropriate regulatory approval and disclosures, in violation of FDA advertising regulations or EMA guidelines.
- Content that promotes hate speech, discrimination, or violence against any individual or group based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or nationality, in violation of the CAP Code on Harm and Offence.
- Political advertising that seeks to influence election outcomes or promote political parties, in compliance with Electoral Commission guidelines and applicable election law.
- Malware, spyware, adware, or any advertising that installs software without the user’s explicit informed consent.
- Pop-up, pop-under, auto-play audio, or any ad format that interferes with content consumption or violates the Coalition for Better Ads Standards.
- Ads that mimic news articles, editorial content, or our site’s design in a way that could mislead readers about their commercial nature.
Disclosure and Labelling
All commercial content on News X Now is clearly and unambiguously identified to our readers. We follow the disclosure guidance issued by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), and the EU Unfair Commercial Practices Directive. Specifically:
- Display ads are visually separated from editorial content and labelled “Advertisement”.
- Sponsored articles are labelled “Sponsored Content” or “Sponsored” at the top and bottom of every page.
- Newsletter sponsorships are labelled “Sponsored” adjacent to the advertiser’s content.

Is my ad guaranteed to appear next to specific articles?
Contextual targeting allows you to align your ads with specific content categories such as Politics, Business, or Technology. We cannot guarantee placement alongside specific individual articles in programmatic campaigns, but direct-booked campaigns offer greater placement control. Can I request that my ad not appear next to certain types of content?
Yes. We offer brand safety controls and content exclusion lists for direct-booked campaigns. For programmatic campaigns, brand safety is managed through your DSP’s brand safety settings and through our compliance with the Global Alliance for Responsible Media (GARM) Brand Safety Floor + Suitability Framework.
Does advertising on News X Now influence editorial coverage?
No. Advertising and editorial are completely separate at News X Now. Advertisers receive no editorial coverage, no positive treatment, and no advance notice of stories as a result of their advertising spend. This is a non-negotiable principle set out in our Editorial Policy.
Are your audience figures independently verified?
Our traffic data is measured using Google Analytics. Figures quoted in our media kit reflect monthly averages over the preceding 12-month period. We are working towards third-party audience verification through an accredited measurement body. Contact us for the latest verified figures.
What file formats do you accept for display creatives?
We accept JPEG, PNG, GIF, and HTML5 creatives. All creatives must comply with the IAB New Ad Portfolio specifications and Google Publisher Ad Policies. Animated ads must not flash more than three times per second in compliance with WCAG 2.1 accessibility guidelines. Maximum file size is 150KB for standard display and 2MB for rich media.
