Dharmendra will receive Padma Vibhushan posthumously, these artists will be honoured

President Draupadi Murmu will confer the Padma Award at Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi today. This time the Government of India has announced 131 Padma awards including 5 Padma Vibhushan, 13 Padma Bhushan and 113 Padma Shri. Selected personalities from the world of cinema will be honored for their significant contribution. The names of late actor Dharmendra, South superstar Mammootty, R Madhav and Alka Yagnik among others are included in the list.

Late veteran actor Dharmendra will be honored with the Padma Vibhushan award posthumously. He gave great performances in films like ‘Sholay’, ‘Chupke Chupke’ and ‘Phool Aur Pattar’. Even though he is not with us today, but his work will always be remembered. In place of Dharmendra, his family members will attend the ceremony to receive the award.

Mammootty

Malayalam industry superstar Mammootty will be honored with Padma Bhushan. Apart from Malayalam, he has also contributed significantly to Hindi and Tamil cinema. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 1998.

Alka Yagnik

Alka Yagnik is called the queen of melodies. He has given many hit songs from 1990 to 2000. He will be honored with Padma Bhushan. He has spread the magic of his voice in many films including ‘Khalnayak’, ‘Taal’, ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’.

R Madhavan

R Madhavan will be felicitated with the Padma Shri award. He has done great work in ‘Rehena Hai Tere Dil Mein’, ‘3 Idiots’ and ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’. He also received the National Award in 2023 for ‘Rocketry’.

Prosenjit Chatterjee

Bengali cinema actor Prosenjit Chatterjee was honored with the Padma Shri award. He has acted in more than 350 films. He is a big name in Bengali cinema.

Anil Kumar Rastogi

Veteran actor and theater artist Anil Kumar Rastogi will also be honored with the Padma Shri award. He has done great work in ‘Mulk’, ‘Thappad’.
Satish Shah

Late actor Satish Shah will be honored with the Padma Shri posthumously. He worked in TV early in his career. After this he also worked in many films.
