Bollywood’s famous singer and rapper Honey Singh has made a shocking revelation. He has spoken openly about his mental health before. He said in his latest interview that during the treatment of bipolar disorder he had to face a lot not only mentally but also physically. During this period, he lost all his hair and gained weight. He now wears a wig.
Honey Singh spoke about the toughest phase of her life in the ABtalks podcast. He said that what is the effect on the body of taking bipolar disorder drugs for years?

He was locked in the house for 7 years
Honey Singh said, ‘He first became aware of the symptoms of the disease when he was judging a music reality show and went on a US tour with Shah Rukh Khan. He thought he was going to die. He got very scared. He felt that he would die if he went on stage. So to be unrecognizable on stage, he shaved his hair but they made him wear a hat. I felt that people were not understanding.
He continued, ‘My mental health deteriorated to the point where I left the stage in the middle of a performance and my battle with bipolar disorder lasted for years. I was inside my house for 7 years. I didn’t want my fans to see me in this condition. I locked myself in a room and didn’t even see my childhood friends. No talking, no phone calls, no TV, no internet. People thought I had talked to a ghost. He said that in bipolar disorder you have thoughts that are not true but you may think it is all happening to you.

He further said that, in 2018-19, my condition was such that I thought I was dead. I have taken medication for bipolar disorder for 7 years with no effect. Then I fixed myself in 4 weeks. I started meeting people and facing life again. These drugs took a toll on my physical health. I took medicines for 7 years due to which I gained 105 kg. All my hair fell out. This is my fake hair, I’m completely bald. This is a wig.

Honey Singh further stated that he gave up drugs in 2014 but it took him 7 to 8 years to recover from it and he suffered a lot of pain. I thank God that all this happened in my life at the age of 30 because that’s when I was able to make a comeback.
