'Raja Shivaji' did not run in theaters, could not cross the mark of 50 crores in 6 days

Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh’s latest movie ‘Raja Shivaji’ has released in theatres. In this film he played the character of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. This is Ritesh’s first film as a director. The film has been released in Hindi and Marathi languages. The film had the biggest opener in Marathi. However, the film in Hindi received a lukewarm response from the audience. There has been no significant rise in the earnings of the film either.

‘Raja Shivaji’ released in theaters on May 1. It has been 6 days since the release of the film. On the sixth day, the film has done a business of 4.25 crores. The film did a business of 11.35 crores on its opening day. The first weekend also saw a jump in the earnings of the film.

Riteish’s ‘Raja Shivaji’ fell flat

The film has done a business of Rs 48.65 crore in India. Along with Riteish, Genelia D’Souza, Abhishek Bachchan, Mahesh Manjrekar, Bhagyashree, Fardeen Khan, Sanjay Dutt and others are in important roles in the film. The film has received mixed response from the audience and critics. Genelia has played the role of Sai Bai in the film. His sons Rihan and Riyal made their acting debut with this film. Both had very less screen time. According to reports, Rs 100 crore was spent on making ‘Raja Shivaji’. So far the film has earned 50% of the budget.

Along with ‘Raja Shivaji’, Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi’s film ‘Ek Din’ was released at the box office. ‘Ek Din’ fared badly at the box office.
