Trump said about the peace agreement with Iran – there is no pressure

US President Donald Trump launched a sharp attack on the Democrats on Monday. He charged that Democrats were trying to undermine America’s strong position in the ongoing war with Iran. Trump has made it clear that he is under no “pressure” to make a deal with Iran, even though the two-week ceasefire is set to expire soon.

On Truth Social, Trump wrote, ‘Read in the fake news that I am under pressure to make a deal. This is almost certainly false! There is no pressure on me. Everything will be done quickly and smoothly!’ He said that time is not against them and the new deal will be better than the old JCPOA (Iran Nuclear Deal) of 2015.

Claim to be in a strong position

Trump said that his approach with Iran is faster than other wars. Referring to World War-1, World War-2, Korean War and Vietnam War, he said that it lasted for many years, while our work is being done very quickly.

He also took aim at past presidents, saying they lacked the “courage or foresight” to take the right steps against Iran. Describing Democrats as ‘weak and misguided’, Trump said, ‘They’ve been talking about the threat of Iran for years, but now that I’m doing something they’re diminishing the achievements of our troops and our administration.’

The naval blockade will continue

Trump said the US Navy will continue the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz until a good deal is reached with Iran. He expressed hope that the deal would be done ‘soon’.

The two-week ceasefire is scheduled to end on April 22 (Wednesday). Preparations for new talks are underway in Islamabad (Pakistan). Trump said there was little chance of extending the ceasefire, according to Bloomberg. Vice President JD Vance will leave for Islamabad soon.
