When did the war start?

This war started on 28 February 2026, when Israel and America together attacked Iran. Trump on Saturday canceled the visit of his Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff and son-in-law Kushner to Pakistan. The decision came after Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi returned from Pakistan, dealing a blow to hopes of talks.

However, Aragchi returned to Pakistan on Sunday. He met Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and discussed creating a ‘practical framework’ to end the ongoing war in West Asia (Middle East).

According to Tehran’s semi-official news agency Tasnim, Araghchi’s conversation is not related to the nuclear issue. The issues involved are-

  • Implementing a new legal regime on the Strait of Hormuz

  • get compensation

  • Promise not to guarantee military attacks again

  • removal of naval blockade

Trump said he canceled his ambassadors’ trip because the travel was too expensive and time-consuming. He described Iran’s proposal as ‘not enough’. According to Trump, ‘Iran offered a lot, but not enough.’
