Iran will not talk directly with America, Argachi present in Islamabad

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi arrived in Islamabad late on Friday to discuss the US-Iran ceasefire talks with Pakistan’s top leadership. Pakistan is organizing the second round of talks between Iran and the US. Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Abbas Arghchi has denied any direct contact with American officials during his visit to Pakistan. While Argachi was scheduled to have extensive diplomatic talks with American officials till a day ago.
Iran made its position clear soon after Abbas Araghchi arrived in Islamabad. Iran had said in a statement that there would be no face-to-face talks with US representatives during the visit this time.

No plans to meet – Iran
Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman Ismail Bakai said on X that there is no plan to hold any meeting between Iran and the US. Instead of direct contact with the US, he said Pakistan would act as a mediator, facilitating talks between the two sides.

Appreciated Pakistan
Bakai thanked the Pakistani government for its ongoing mediation and good deeds to end the US-led invasion. In fact, the White House had indicated earlier on Friday that the US ambassador was scheduled to meet with Argachi during his visit.
Meanwhile, after Abbas Aragchi’s arrival in Islamabad, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir welcomed him. Argachi will hold a meeting with Pakistan’s senior leadership today.
