A major operation in Pakistan amid US-Iran talks, 22 terrorists were killed

Talks are going on between the US and Iran in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Argachi and US President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Wittkoff and son-in-law Jared Kushner are currently in Pakistan. Yesterday, Friday, when the process of these leaders’ arrival in Pakistan was going on, Pakistan made the information of the military operation public. The Pakistani army said that a search operation was conducted in the northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in which about 22 terrorists have been killed.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media unit of the Pakistan Army, said in a statement that 22 terrorists associated with ‘Fitna-al-Khawariz’ were killed during the operation. The term ‘Fitna-al-Khawariz’ is used by the Pakistani government for the banned organization Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

A 10-year-old child also died
The Pakistani army said in its statement, “The terrorists fired indiscriminately, due to which a 10-year-old child died.” Along with this, the army further said that the search operation is going on to eliminate the remaining terrorists in the area. Along with this, the army said that this campaign against terrorists will continue continuously. The army said that Pakistan’s security forces will continue to work with full speed to eliminate terrorism.

The Prime Minister and the President praised
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have praised the security forces for the successful operation in Khyber. Both the leaders have expressed deep grief over the death of a 10-year-old child who was killed in the firing of terrorists. According to the report of Radio Pakistan, Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari said that while Pakistan is continuing its efforts for regional and global peace, on the other hand, terrorists are trying to undermine these efforts.
