Asha Bhonsle had 2 marriages, 3 children, first marriage at the age of 16

Veteran Bollywood singer Asha Bhosle bid farewell to the world at the age of 92. He breathed his last at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. His death has shocked fans. Fans are sending him off with teary eyes. In his career, he worked with many legendary directors including OP Nayyar, Sardar Malik, Sajjad Hussain. He sang everything from pop music to bhajans in his career. She was a versatile singer.

Asha started her career in 1940. His elder sister Lata Mangeshkar was a great singer at that time. Asha wanted to get a different identity from her sister in the industry. Her film career was a hit but she was unlucky in love.

Asha Bhosle was unlucky in love

At the age of 16, Asha Bhosale eloped and married 31-year-old Ganpat Rao. Ganpat Rao was the personal secretary of his elder sister Lata Mangeshkar. Due to this, Lata also broke the relationship with her sister Asha. He did not get love from Ganpat Rao and his mother-in-law and father-in-law also used to beat him. He had three children from his first marriage. In 1960, Asha divorced Ganpat.

In 1980, Asha married RD Burman. Both of them had second marriages. RD Burman’s mother did not approve of this relationship. The two were still together until Berman’s death in 1994. Asha Bhonsle’s elder son Hemant Kumar worked as a pilot for a few years and then became a music director. He got recognition with the song Aaji Kaho Kya Hal Hai from the movie Agpadh. The song was sung by Asha and Kishore Kumar. Hemant passed away in 2015. He was suffering from cancer.

He had a deep relationship with his granddaughter

Before son Hemant, Asha’s daughter Varsha Bhonsale committed suicide in 2012. Asha lived with her second son Anant. Anant’s daughter’s name is Janai Bhosale. Asha loved her granddaughter Janai Bhosale very much. The two were often seen spending time together.
