Shooting in Louisiana, 8 children died, was it because of a domestic dispute?


A terrible shooting incident took place on Sunday morning in the city of Shreveport in the state of Louisiana, USA. Eight children aged 1 to 14 years died in it. Police are treating it as a domestic dispute incident.

According to the police, the gunman entered different houses and opened fire. A total of 10 people were shot. Eight children died, while two women were shot in the head but survived. Out of fear, a small boy tried to save himself by jumping from the roof, in which he was injured.

The gunman stole the car and escaped

The gunman stole a car in an attempt to escape. The police chased him. During the chase, police opened fire and the suspect was killed. Police spokesman Chris Bordelon said some of the children killed were his own family members.

What did the police say?

“It’s a scene that most of us have never seen before,” Shreveport police spokesman Christopher Bordelon said. It’s a huge and gruesome crime scene. The firing took place at three different locations. Police and the Louisiana State Police are now investigating the entire incident. No clear reason has been found yet.

Police Chief Wayne Smith expressed grief and said, ‘My heart is in shock. I cannot even imagine how such an event could happen. The city’s mayor, Tom Arceneaux, described it as ‘the worst tragedy in the city’s history’. ‘It was a terrible morning,’ he said.

Ban on sharing photos and videos

The police have appealed to the people that if they have any picture, video or any information regarding this incident, they should immediately give it to the police. No police personnel were injured. About 1.8 million people live in the city of Shreveport. The entire city is in shock with this incident. Police are still gathering more details.
