Chinese robot turned out to be faster than humans, set a new world record in half marathon

The ‘Flash’ robot made by a Chinese company has surprised the world by breaking the human world record in the Beijing Half Marathon. In this race held on Sunday, this special humanoid robot completed the distance of 21 km in just 50 minutes 26 seconds. This time is much less than the best time created by man, which has set a new precedent in the world of technology.
This advanced humanoid robot has been developed by China’s Shenzhen Honor Smart Technology Development Co. Ltd. This robot named ‘Flash’ showed its strength during the 2026 Beijing E-Town Half Marathon. The Flash competed in the competition’s ‘autonomous navigation’ category, meaning he navigated his way without any outside help, and won.

Record of Jacob Kiplimo
The world record for completing the half marathon is 57 minutes 20 seconds. The Chinese robot ‘Flash’ took about 7 minutes less time to cover this distance. The current men’s half marathon world record was set by legendary Ugandan runner Jacob Kiplimo at the Lisbon Half Marathon in Portugal last month, which has now been overtaken by this machine.
Not only China, but more than 100 teams from countries like Germany, France and Brazil participated in this international competition organized in Beijing. These teams gave tough competition to human runners with their respective robots. It was held to see the balance between fighting technique and physical ability.

Track rules
The rules of this competition were quite clear. According to the rules, both robots and humans had to cross the same path of 21 km. But a separate line was made for the robot to avoid any mishap during the race and to ensure everyone’s safety. With this, robots and humans could complete their race without colliding with each other.
