Iranian attack on ship crossing Hormuz, 21 Indians on board; The government’s statement has come


Iran and America are facing each other on the Strait of Hormuz. Amid US claims, Iran is constantly targeting ships coming here to maintain its control over Hormuz. Meanwhile, the Iranian Navy opened fire on a Panamanian-flagged container cargo ship. 21 Indian crew members were on board this plane. However, even after the attack, all the Indians on board the plane are safe and unharmed. This information has been given by the Ministry of Shipping of India itself.

The Panamanian flagged container cargo is named Euphoria. The Euphoria was one of three ships attacked by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Wednesday. The attack came at a time when Iran was protesting the US blockade of Hormuz. Iran wants to maintain its control over Hormuz. Apart from the Panama plane, one of the planes attacked by Iran also includes a Liberian plane. The ship was on its way to Mundra port in India.

There were 21 Indian sailors on board – Ministry

While giving information, Mukesh Mangal, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Shipping, said, ’21 Indian sailors were on board the ship named Euphoria and all are safe.’ He further said that no Indian sailor was injured in firing on foreign flag ships.

What did Irani say?

At the same time, it has been said from the Iranian media that the Francesca ship has been detained at the Bandar Abbas port along with the Epaminondas, with no crew members on board. Iranian media reported that the Euphoria was stranded on the Iranian coast after the attack.

Statement of the Ministry of Shipping

Meanwhile, the Gibraltar-flagged bulk carrier Froso K, carrying 55,000 metric tonnes of sulphur, passed through the Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday and is now heading to India’s Paradip port, the shipping ministry said in a statement. The Government of India is keeping a close eye on the removal of Froso K from the Persian Gulf. Apart from this, a ship named Desh Garima departed from Hormuz on April 18 with a crude oil tanker, which reached Mumbai on Wednesday.
