‘Strength is not greater than public trust…’, Nepal’s Home Minister Sudan Gurung resigned

After the violent protests, elections were held with difficulty and a government was formed, but it seems that all is still not well in Nepal. In less than a month, protests against the government have started under the leadership of Blaine Shah. Meanwhile, Nepal’s famous Home Minister Sudan Gurung has resigned from his post. Sudan Gurung has not only resigned but has also said that for him morality is more important than any power and public trust is more important than power. He has also said that those who want ‘Ram Raj’ will have to show courage and moral strength to make sacrifices.

Sudan Gurung says that he has taken the public criticism very seriously and has decided to resign from his post keeping in mind ethical standards. Sudan Gurung is accused of having business ties with the controversial Deepak Bhatta. Deepak Bhatta is the same businessman, against whom investigation is going on in the money laundering case. The problem facing the new government of Nepal is that before Sudan Gurung, Labor Minister Deepak Kumar also had to be removed.
