A threat to regional and international peace
Japan said the launch was a threat to regional and international peace and a violation of UN Security Council resolutions that prohibit any ballistic activity by North Korea. North Korea said last week that its leader Kim Jong Un had overseen missile tests from the country’s destroyer warship. After the test, Kim said his government was focused on unlimited expansion of its nuclear forces.
International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Rafael Grossi also said last week that his agency had confirmed a sharp increase in activity at North Korea’s nuclear facilities.
